AFMS SSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 > NEET-Based Shortlisting & Registration Process

The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has officially announced the AFMS SSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 for a total of 100 Short Service Commission posts. Applicants with an MBBS degree and the required medical registration can now apply online through the official portal. The online registration window opens on 21 February 2026 and will remain active till 4 March 2026. The AFMS SSC MO Notification aims to induct skilled civilian doctors into the Armed Forces as Medical Officers in the Army Navy or Air Force.

Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Conditions

• Applicants must possess medical qualifications listed under the National Medical Council Act, 2019 to apply for the AFMS SSC MO Vacancies.
• Applicants must be permanently registered with State Medical Council/NMC/MCI is mandatory to apply.
• PG qualification holders approved by NBE/NMC/Sate Medical Council can also apply.
• Internship must be completed on or before 31 July 2025 to apply.
• MBBS degree holders should be born on or after 02 January 1997 (maximum 30 years as on 31 Dec 2026) to apply.
• PG degree holders should be born on or after 02 January 1992 (maximum 35 years) to apply.

Salary Structure & Service Benefits

Candidates selected under the AFMS SSC Medical notification will be granted the rank of captain (or equivalent rank depending on the service wing). They will be placed in Level 10B of the defence pay matrix with a comprehensive package that includes basic pay of ₹61,300 , military service pay (MSP)of ₹15,500, transport allowance between ₹3,600 to ₹7,200, annual dress allowance that is ₹20,000 and other HRA depending on posting city category , non practice allowance (NPA) as per existing rules

Documents Required at the Interview

Applicants called for the interview must carry original documents along with two photocopies which includes proof of date of birth (Matriculation/ Birth Certificate), Aadhar card, MBBS and PG degree certificates (if applicable), permanent medical registration certificate, final MBBS attempt certificate, internship completion certificate, NEET PG scorecard, NOC from employer (if applicable), NCC certificate (optional), relevant certificates for foreign medical graduates, passport (for foreign graduates), gezette notification in case of a name change, 10 recent passport-sized photographs and completed attestation form.

Filling the Online Application Form

Step 1 > Open the official AFMS website and use the “NEW REGISTRATION” option to create an account.

Step 2> Fill in personal, academic, and professional details accurately in the online form and upload copies of photograph, signature, certificates, registration proof, NEET PG scorecard, and identity documents.

Step 3 > Pay the ₹200 application fee through online payment modes such as net banking or cards and then submit the form.

Step 4 > Download the confirmation page for future reference.
